A German Bard

This is the BARD 1
Welkom to Eemshaven. A clean version of Immingham, no County or Bluey but very bleak. Im up in the North of Holland waiting to tow BARD 1 . BARD 1 is basically a plug for the seabed. It , when connected takes the power created by the off shore wind farms and sends it down a cable to mainland Germany.

Our Captain Adam Adamkiewicz, in blue and AB Mark Fraser in red in the aft deck of the Kestrel.

The Kestrel next to our competion in the tug world, a dutch tug called Brent.

The seamans mission is about to close but all being well we will be at sea in the morning and for the next few days. Hopefully more photos to come.

Sunrise

At the moment when I get up at six forty five it is pitch black apart from the dotted little lights of the oil rig near us in the firth. By eight (ish) there is usually some light, and this morning there was a fantastic red sky to photograph.

Kestrel

This is a picture of the Kestrel, where I am currently working. She is pictured here alongside the West Admiralty (Inner) at Invergordon.

So far I have been battling through the ships Japanese certificates and instruction manuals. I have managed to work out the cooker and rice boiler but Japanese is not my strong language!
